Hi all! Samantha just let me know that she found the movie City of Ember. It is rated PG and follows the same theme as the book- which we all loved. Samantha found it on HBO and I found it on Netflix. The trailer looks great! If you watch it let me know what you think. Can't believe it is almost July! What have you been up to in June?
Hello everyone out there enjoying their summer break. Loving the World Cup- GO USA! The game yesterday was so exciting. Today, I taught my summer school second graders a "5th grade thing": not writing over the margins on binder paper. They felt very cool when I told them that big kids stay within the margins. We are studying magnets and are having a magnet circus on Thursday. Who would have thought magnets could be so much fun!
Well, you all have been 6th graders for one whole weekend now...how's it feel? You did a wonderful job at the promotion ceremony, and it was so nice to see all your families. I will be checking the blog once or twice a week so feel free to write away! I would love to hear what you are doing over the summer, good books you have read, or trips you have taken. So far all I have done is started to paint my living room and begin prepping for summer school. Oh and swimming!
With only two days left, I am starting to get very sad to see all these marvelous students head off to Middle School. Yes, they will have a wonderful time, make new friends, learn new things, and hopefully come back and visit. But, it has been such an amazing school year I'm not quite ready to see it end. Today was the pool party at Rancho, tomorrow our kickball tournament, and Friday is the promotion ceremony. Time flies when we are having FUN!
So the kickball tournament is almost here. You have met your team, designed your flag, made a batting order, discussed uniforms, and chose a captain. Now tell me: What is your team name? What was one of the challenges that arose in your group?
